Boiler Chimneys: All the Data in a Single Program!
ChimneyMaster contains all the data you need when making calculations for chimney systems of all types, including for boiler chimneys.
ChimneyMaster contains all the data you need when making calculations for chimney systems of all types, including for boiler chimneys.
In order to calculate the specifications for a boiler chimney, you need the technical data of both the boiler and the chimney. ChimneyMaster supplies all the data you need. All you have to do is to follow the steps on ChimneyMaster’s selection screen. Before selecting a boiler, you are provided a list of categories for the type of chimney you want to design. The many options at this point include everything from forced-draft boilers and condensing boilers to gas-fuel and pellet-fuel boilers. The next step is to select the manufacturer (brand) and model of the boiler itself, after which ChimneyMaster will automatically bring up all the technical specifications of the selected device and use this data in its calculations.
The next step is to select the fittings (i.e., the chimney) to be connected to the boiler. You have the option of choosing a single- or double-wall chimney or a hermetic chimney type, as well as the manufacturer and model of the chimney. All technical data for the chimney you select will again be entered into the system automatically. You may then have to select a class for the model you have chosen with output values appropriate for your boiler. Once ChimneyMaster has carried out its calculations for the system, it will warn you if the class of chimney model you have selected is inappropriate.
The calculation steps specified in the EN-13384 standard are used to make calculations for the chimney. According to your ChimneyMaster boiler chimney or combination-boiler chimney design, you will be provided with a chimney calculation report that uses the appropriate calculation method, whether for cascade and joint-chimney connections or single devices.
A common issue users face, especially when designing boiler chimneys or combination-boiler chimneys, relates to how the chimney caps used at the top exit point of the chimney and their resistance data affect the calculations. ChimneyMaster can also provide you with options in this regard. In addition, when you design a positive-pressure boiler chimney or a cascade or joint-chimney connection, ChimneyMaster calculates whether there is a risk of backflow, as specified in the EN-13384 standard. According to these calculations, you can see whether you need to use a chimney flap in the boiler chimney, in which case you can use the program to add one to the corresponding boiler chimney or connection part.
